A little about me, Mariah.

Thrifting and treasure hunting has been the one consistent piece of my life since childhood.

Life is always changing and we adapt to the season we’re in, being constantly reminded that nothing ever remains the same. What does stay the same though is what we’re passionate about. The thing we can’t wait to get off of work to do, the thing that brings us joy every time, the thing we could spend endless hours doing. For me, that's thrifting in all its forms: garage sales, estate sales, thrift stores, vintage + antique shops, roadside piles, Facebook marketplace + other reselling platforms.

Aside from the sustainability factor, it's a treasure hunt. There's nothing like spending an afternoon at a thrift store going up and down every aisle, looking through every shelf, behind every item. It gives me the biggest rush of dopamine.

Estate sales hit a little differently. There's a connection I feel to the belongings of the people who lived there. Oftentimes, an estate sale is held because of someone passing away and the family is left to handle the estate and all its contents. Even in instances where the owner/s are downsizing or moving into a home, there's a story to tell and I want to tell it.

What an incredible way to connect a community: to tell someone's story and invite people to experience it tangibly. It’s like a historical tour, but you get to buy things!

The hope is that people find a connection with pieces and bring them home to add to their own stories.

So why did I start The Collective Estate Sales + Vintage? Because....why not? Wouldn't you want to do what you love?
